まさか、～じゃないでしょうね


自分が予想したことを驚きを含めて表現するときに使えるフレーズ。たとえば、もう１０年も会っていない学生時代の友人にNathan という息子がいて最後に会ったのは、Nathan が４歳のとき。最近、その友人と道でばったり会った。彼女は、ちょっと Nathan の面影を持つ若者と歩いている。そんな時、

Don't tell me this is Nathan!
まさか、Nathan じゃないでしょうね！

この表現では、"This is Nathan, isn't it?" （Nathan だよね？） の意味と、"I can't believe this is Nathan!" （Nathan だなんて信じられない！） の意味を同時に表している。


例文

まさか、タイタニックを見たことないなんてこと、ないでしょう？
